We started reading this book to Bethany before she'd go to sleep.  We started it last week, I think, reading one chapter a night.  But one night, after she fell asleep, I started reading ahead.  And then before I knew it, I had read ahead 3 or 4 chapters.  Well, every night after we'd read another chapter, she'd go to bed and I'd pick up where I had left off before.  Anyway, to make a long story short, with her, we are on chapter 5 I think.  But I stayed up last night until one in the morning (and I'm NOT a nightowl, let me tell you...) and I got to chapters 11, 12, 13 and there are 17 chapters all together, and I kept thinking, "just one more chapter..." well, I finished the book last night.  I loved it.  I absolutely loved it.

I can't wait to meet my Jesus!  You know?  I think sometimes we get used to the fact that HE DIED FOR US!!  We hear it so much at church, on the radio, in sunday school, but my gosh!  He DIED for us!  For me!!  What a loving God we serve...  It's just awesome.

Kathleen and I like this book also.  I also have been reading this book with Kathleen (alternating every 2 pages) when it is my turn to do her bedtime story.  She normally chooses between myself or her brothers to do her story, more or less rotating through as schedules dictate.  Once we got started on this book however, I had to do like 10 in a row.
I like the precision with which Mr. Lewis presents his stories.  Nice and neat, fully defined without being wordy.  Well ok, hardly ever wordy.
The main thing is that it really does personalize the sacrafice Jesus made for us.  You are right on!

And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ...

Narnia... it's not just for kids anymore...   Cheesy  The Narnia books are some of my favorites and I own the whole set if y'all ever want to borrow them.  There are seven of them - The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (or should I say, Ward Robe) was the second in a series.  The first one is an allegory about Creation, like the Lion, etc. is about the Crucifixion, and the last one is about Armageddon.  I have some questions about C.S. Lewis's theology that I'd like to study further (nothing monumental - just questions, you know) but who has the time?  But those books were some of my very favorites as a kid and I just read them all again last year - they're ALL almost impossible to put down, although I do think that the L, the W and the W is the best one!  I would love to share them with you (as soon as my niece and nephew return them - they're coming for Easter).

PS - Book discussions!!!  Yippee!!!

PS, the sequel - books for grownups by C.S. Lewis:  Mere Christianity (non-fiction, apologetic),  Screwtape Letters (fiction, Satan corresponds with a demon about humans)
